our journey

2005

Our Organic Instinct journey began when we became parents for the first time. There was an overwhelming sense of responsibility to give our little person the best start in life. We began looking more closely at the products we had in our own home and the source of the foods we ate. One product and one food at a time, we changed or substituted them over to the low tox and organically grown varieties. We educated ourselves about ingredient lists, chemical lists, food additives, the benefits of supplements, aromatherapy and general health and wellness. It was an eye opening experience and we wanted to share this knowledge with our community. In time, we noticed our energy levels were higher, sleep quality was better, less sickness and an overall better sense of well- being became the new normal.

2012

It wasn’t enough to just feel better ourselves, we had to share our experience with friends and family. In 2012, we started selling selected products at a local community market once a month. We started with everyday items such as shampoos, conditioners, body washes, skincare, toothpaste and some general household cleaning products - there were about 50 in our initial range. Over time, this grew to over a 100 products within just a few months. We set up shelving in our spare room and had open days where customers could come into our home and shop. As our product range grew, our room could not accommodate the expansion so we created our first online store in 2014.

Customers were now able to order online. We would pick and pack these orders and customers would pick them up from our home or we would have them delivered nationwide. As our customer base grew, our product range also expanded to include household items, water filters, products for babies and mums and supplements.

2016- 2019

Word of mouth and social media were our initial selling points. We had 1000’s of followers and we now had a platform where we could really engage our customers and begin what we were passionate about - teaching and education.

We organised our first public workshop entitled “Achieving Ultimate Health”. We were both humbled and thrilled that there were so many like-minded people that were inspired to learn and join the low tox journey.

In 2017 – 2019 we began receiving invites to conduct seminars at schools aimed at parents, students and teens. We also held public workshops in both Melbourne and Sydney to great success.

2019

In December of this year, after selling from our home for nearly 8 years, we moved to a warehouse in Melbourne, Victoria. This was our best move yet- all orders were picked, packed and dispatched in record time. Everything changed. Our customers appreciated the great service, and both our business and membership continued to grow exponentially.

2020 and beyond

The year 2020 was the most unprecedented experience for most Australians, especially for small business. We worked extra hard to ensure that our customers were supported and efficiently received all their low tox health needs.

Moving forward we now have over 1000 products in our range and expanding. Our updated logo, website and branding reflects us as a maturing brand. We are also planning more seminars, a YouTube channel, interviews and more ways to get the message across about how easy and beneficial a low tox way of life can be to a person’s health and overall wellbeing.

Throughout this journey, the most rewarding feedback we get from our members is when they thank us for sharing the knowledge we have gained and showing them an alternative way of life. We are all about preventative care- to be proactive, not reactive to health, one step at a time.
