Fresh 6 day young Broccoli Sprouts have been freeze dried raw at less than 60C to retain the active myrosinase enzyme and glucoraphanin.  The enzyme myrosinase along with the molecule glucoraphanin is retained in tact by the freeze drying process which removes all water from the Broccoli Sprout using cold drying technology under vacuum. When the capsule enters the gut, stomach acids break down the cellulose capsules, creating a  reaction between the myrosinase enzyme and the glucoraphanin molecule which in turn produces sulphoraphane.

Sulphoraphane turns on a switch in the cells to activate protective nRF-2, genes and pathways in the body such as anti oxidants enzymes and anti inflammatory genes.  

Sulforaphane is a naturally occurring inducer of phase II enzymes to help detoxify unwanted chemicals that contribute to health problems.  Glucoraphanin is the precursor of sulforaphane and its content is greatly influenced by seed quality, pre-harvest factors and process methods.
